#450-02 Local Holdings Maintenance - Instructor: Laurie Bartolini - NO FEE REQUIRED-VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

INSTRUCTOR: Laurie Bartolini

AUDIENCE: SILO members and any other staff responsible for maintaining local holdings records (formerly known as local data records for the union list service).

DESCRIPTION: This workshop provides training in OCLC’s new Local Holdings Maintenance Service formerly known as Union Listing with local data records. Local Holdings Records will now be in MARC Format for Holdings Data (MFHD) allowing libraries to load data into their local systems and to automatically route ILL requests.

Participants will view a live demonstration of the new service including how to search for and identify serial records, and how to create, edit, and delete a local holdings record. The option to batchload local data records will also be discussed.

THERE IS NO FEE to attend this LiveMeeting event. LiveMeeting allows you to stay at your own PC and use an Internet connection and telephone to view the demonstration and to communicate with the trainer. The service is scheduled to migrate as a “hot-cutover” February 19, 2006 to the Connexion browser interface. Should the migration be delayed, we will notify you at once and re-schedule this virtual session.
