#420-3 WorldCat Resource Sharing Using SILC - Instructor: Lynn Bierma - NO FEE REQUIRED-VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

INSTRUCTOR: Lynn Bierma

DESCRIPTION: This demonstration will introduce staff to all aspects of the Statewide Illinois Library Catalog (SILC) for resource discovery and interlibrary loan. Staff will learn how to search SILC by region and type of library, and how to expand searches in SILC to include all WorldCat holdings. Specific ILL instruction will also include borrowing and lending functionality, including scoping to favorite lending partners. A review of the FirstSearch Administrative Module components that need to be "turned on" for ILL capability (patron and staff views) will take place, in addition to the settings that further enhance the SILC database (linking to library's web catalog for shelf status).

THERE IS NO FEE to attend this LiveMeeting event. LiveMeeting allows you to stay at your own PC and use an Internet connection and telephone to view the demonstration and to communicate with the trainer.
